About Us
eonEcon Foundation is an initiative of a group of people passionate about environment and the issues affecting it. It was started in July 2006 when these people from different walks of life but sharing similar interests came together to kick start this endeavor for conserving environment and its resources.

About the Name: "Eon" stands for immeasurable number of years and Econ is made of two words "Ecological" and "Conservation".
Our Approach:
We endeavor to take resource based environment initiatives such that they help in conserving the natural resources of the Earth or adding back to them.
eonEcon aims to actively involve society- individuals, industries, corporations, organizations and educational institutions to embrace environment and conserve it through education, awareness and undertaking issue specific activities. We are also making an effort to compile resources, case studies and information from within Chandigarh, India and the world and also pertaining various environmental issues like air pollution, water pollution, waste management (paper, plastics, e-waste), energy etc. Our belief is that each individual, if made aware of these ills facing our environment and also shown ‘how they can help address environmental issues through slight changes in their day to day activities’, can be an agent for bringing about Global change over time.
Our Earth today is plagued by pollution of various kinds. Apart from the air and water pollution that seems very evident to everyone; global warming, man-made disasters, depleting natural resources, degradation of the green cover and most poignantly - apathy towards environment conservation at large is also taking its toll on the Earth today.
Sometimes, the only thing stopping one from even attempting an action is the lack of awareness and knowledge of how it can help bring about a positive change in our environment. Melting of the ice caps in the Arctic or a drought in Amazon, then, would not seem like a remote or isolated happening in some unrelated part of the Earth affecting unknown people. It would be a reality facing us.
